Tattler Thursday #7

Hi guys and gals! It's Tattler Thursday here at W3G again! Welcome back! Today is the day where parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, babysitters, friends, cousins, or anyone with an awesome kid story can let down their hair and share! ...I love kids and I love kid stories! I created this event so that we could all take a minute out of our busy days and share a story and giggle at a few others! There is no purpose other than to have fun sharing war stories from in the trenches parenthood! Anything goes, gross, gooey, sticky, funny, scary, crazy, pull your hair out wild kid stories! So it's that time again, time for all you adults to tattle on your kids! So ready...set...GO! Time to tattle tell! Happy tattling! I cannot wait to read all of your great stories!

  1. Little Man discovered his boy parts a few months ago and takes every opportunity he gets to check them out. Most of these opportunities occur at diaper change time as it's still pretty cold here most of the time and I don't let him run naked nearly as much as he'd like!

Yesterday, while changing a particularly pungent diaper, Little Man decided he would grab said stinky diaper and swing it about. Anyone who's had a toddler knows they can move like lightning when they so choose, this was one of those instances.

Before I know it, while I'm still trying to wipe his bum, there's a poo-laden diaper swinging about between Little Man and I! I scream in terror(really didn't mean to, but I guess it was instinctual), he instantly stops swinging and the diaper lands on his face!

The mess was minimal, but it was still there...above his lip and under his nose...a little poo mustache! If only I'd had my camera within reach!

  2. OK, another because I just thought of it...and it's a cute story to make up for the yucky one above!

About 10 years ago, when I lived in Florida, I would often care for one of my friend's little boys. She and I each had two children and we often took the other's children to give each other a break or a chance to go to an appointment or the grocery store kid-free.

My friend's youngest was the only one of the four not yet in school and I love him like he's mine, so I had him every chance I could get, really!

One day, his Mom asks him what he would do if something happened to her and she wasn't there to take care of him anymore (I think he was being a little meany to her that day); without missing a beat he replies "Don't worry, Mom, Miss Cristyl will abopt me!"

To this day, and he's a big stinky teenager now, I tell him I"ll "abopt" him anytime he wants!

  3. Kathy Gabeheart Basham - Here's a note I found on my FB and thought of you: 'Just remembered something funny. Yesterday while I was on the phone (for just a few brief minutes) the twins barrelled up the stairs and got Steve's toothbrushes and started brushing their teeth. They've done that before - no big deal. BUT after they brushed their teeth they cleaned the sinks and brushed the bottoms of their shoes. Nick said it's really good to do that. Well, I don't know how or when but Steve's toothbrushes ended up back in the holder. I meant to throw them away but I didn't and of course I didn't tell him. I know that he brushed his teeth with one of them this morning because it was wet when I brushed my teeth, so...that'll just be one funny story to tell him sometime later...not now of course...at least not until I get him a new toothbrush.'
